NDR Jazz Workshops - start of listing -

I started this listing about 1985. The management of NDR Radio was so kind to let me check my first draft and make corrections.

Here the first 150 workshops are listed as part 1. They are devited into the ones from No.1 to 70 ending with the death of producer Hans Gertberg who together with Rolf Liebermann "invented" the format. Because of Hans Gertberg's illness No. 68 was cancelled, No. 69 and probably No. 70 were produced by (secretary) Lisa Regber.

Hans Gertberg died July 21, 1970.

In the 2nd part you will find No. 151 to 300. With the entry of Michael Naura as producer the workshops changed slowly from meetings of various musicians who mainly never had met before, to "normal" concert performances. As far as I know starting with No. 200 they were called NDR Jazz Konzerte.

Michael Naura died recently February 17, 2017.

Added are many cover scans of the LP's. The LP's could be bought by visitors and now are hard to find items not only in Japan. Some workshops - in bits and pieces or in complete form - were issued by various small labels.

Other memorabiles are added as well, such as tape-box notes, photos or articles.

Some workshops were also broadcast by TV. You will see a seperate listing at the end (of the last part)

December 2018 Lauchringen

more than 2000 hits for this listing - hard to believe but there seem to be a whole lot of curious people who still are interestered in this old stuff.

P.S.  The first copies on reel-to-reel tapes I received had strange numbers which looked like tape numbers or matrix-numbers. This was wrong. It was just a personal numerical listing done by the owner of tapes.
