Hans Koller discography - part 1 1942 - 1949
Isn't this a great photo? fltr Hans Koller, Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, Richard Krüger
I have no idea who is the ower of copyright. By the way, Richard Krüger was the owner of the famous jazz cafe in Düsseldorf.
Now the Hans Koller discography is completed. It is issued here in 4 parts - each section containing a decade.
Introduction
As you may know, the biography of Hans Koller written by the well-known jazz journalist Klaus Schulz, was first published in German language in 2007. As an appendix, there was a short discography with the note that a complete discography would certainly make the book too expensive and uncomfortable to handle.
Many important sessions recorded by Hans Koller all over Europe were not included, neither were tapes featuring unissued live performances, recorded and broadcast by radio.
The opportunity to produce a comprehensive discography arose when I read an article about the possibilies of modern media and book-on-demand.
It was a highly labour-intensive and time-consuming undertaking to collect the records and tapes.
Since the days of divorce there was no chance to get hold of covers. In this way new entries mostly came from the internet. I don't know if anybody is the in fact owner of rights for publishing but I would like to tell that I erased the file immediately if anybody writes an e-mail concerning that he is the owner.
At the end of part 4 you can find sone nice and rare photos and scans.
And please be aware that the book of Klaus Schulz which came along with a fine CD was issued by Album Verlag/Wien, 2007. It is a collectors' item and hard to find.
By the way, I have some original paitings of Hans Koller for sale. I can send photos and descriptions.
Any additional information is welcome. And of course, I would like to thank all the nice persons who helped to compile this work-in-progress.
